Auntie Joyce’s Fried Wontons – With Jalapenos, Cream Cheese & Chicken

1 package Wonton Skins
1 qt. Canola or Vegetable Oil

Filling

1 package (8oz.) Cream Cheese Block – room temperature
1 can Diced Jalapenos
1 can Diced Green Chilis
4 C. Diced Cooked Chicken (store bought roast chicken works great!)
¼ tsp. salt or to taste

Stir cream cheese to soften add jalapenos and green chiles with juices – combine well. Add chicken – stir well…Break up any large pieces of chicken.

Line a sheet pan with damp paper towels to put the uncooked wontons on. Get a bowl of water and start assembling. Take a wonton wrapper, place a spoonful in the center…Wet two edges of the wrapper and fold in ½ to make a triangle. Press edges together to seal well. Do not over lap the wontons they may stick together.

When all the wontons are made they can be covered with plastic wrap and stored in the refrigerator overnight.

Place oil in a deep pot to ½ full. Heat oil to 350°F. Gently place wontons in hot oil and fry to golden brown in batches of 6. Drain on paper towel lined newspaper. Eat while still hot!!! Share if you must!
